A childhood filled with aviation and curiosity
As a child, Arnoud was fascinated by everything related to aviation. During air travel, he was hard to contain. He always wanted to peek into the cockpit, absorbing every detail like a sponge: the technology, the communication, the atmosphere.
But Arnoud wanted more: to help others turn their flying dreams into reality. Just like he did.
No straightforward path
Arnoud’s journey to the cockpit was anything but conventional. In primary school, he dealt with bullying and received a school recommendation that didn’t match his interests or abilities. He was pushed toward a future in welding, even though his passion lay in flying and technology.
But he didn’t give up. His love for aviation and interest in computers came together in a self-built flight simulator, complete with a cockpit so large it had to be hoisted in through his bedroom window.
Taking the long way up
While training as a welder, Arnoud never let go of his dream. After graduation, he worked offshore as a contractor. It wasn’t the sky, but the open sea brought the income he needed to finance his flight training. Step by step, from small aircraft to eventually flying the Boeing 737.
Today, he holds his license and has extensive experience in commercial aviation. But Arnoud wanted more: to help others reach for the skies too.
Arnoud's commitment
Arnoud is fully committed to his students in a way that goes beyond the classroom. He’s always available to support them, not only during the course but also after obtaining their PPL or CPL. His coaching has no boundaries, neither in time nor dedication.
Arnoud:
“Flying may not be for everyone. But if I can help remove the obstacles that hold someone back — just like they once held me back — I’ll gladly be part of their journey.”
Arnoud is fully committed to his students in a way that goes beyond the classroom. He’s always available to support them, not only during the course but also after obtaining their PPL or CPL. His coaching has no boundaries, neither in time nor dedication.
Flight Theory covers all nine PPL theory subjects and adapts to each student’s pace. Need extra help with navigation or meteorology? That time is made available. This is not mass education, it’s personal attention.
What can you expect from training with Arnoud?
Flight Theory focuses on the full PPL theory curriculum. The program includes nine subjects, such as air law, navigation, meteorology, and human performance. All essential for passing the PPL theory exam and moving on to flight training.
Lessons are available in Dutch and/or English, both in-person and online, and are designed to make the content clear and manageable. Flight Theory offers full support throughout your studies, including:
-
Access to a WhatsApp group for quick questions
-
Use of a flight simulator for visual explanations
-
Joint study sessions to prepare for the official exam
A free introductory lesson is also available, so you can get to know the teaching method and the instructor. During this session, your personal goals and timeline for completing the PPL theory are also discussed.
Who is Flight Theory for?
Flight Theory is ideal for aspiring pilots who want to follow their PPL theory training in Dutch and value personal support. It’s especially suitable for:
-
Future PPL pilots who prefer learning in Dutch
-
Students who need extra guidance with complex theoretical topics
-
People looking for a flexible, approachable learning environment
